Overview

Royal Rajasthan goes further than the standard Golden Triangle circuit, trading Delhi and Agra for four cities that show a different side of the state: Jaipur's palaces and forts, the holy lake town of Pushkar, blue-washed Jodhpur beneath the Mehrangarh Fort, and the lake city of Udaipur, its palaces rising straight out of Lake Pichola. It's a private, guided trip built for travellers who've already seen the Taj Mahal — or aren't chasing it this time — and want the forts, lakes and living Rajput heritage that the Golden Triangle doesn't cover. Six days, one private car and driver throughout, and a local guide in each city.

Jaipur, the capital city of the most flamboyant state is the major tourist destination of the country. Beautiful forts, palaces and temples dominate the city and provide the visitors with an enthralling travel experience.

Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India. Located to the northwest of Ajmer, the tranquil city of Pushkar is a favoured destination for thousands of tourists and devotees flocking to Rajasthan. Situated at a height of 510 metres, Pushkar is surrounded by hillocks on three sides. The ‘Nag Pahar’, literally meaning Snake Mountain forms a natural border between Ajmer and Pushkar. Known as ‘the rose garden of Rajasthan’, the essence of the famous Pushkar rose is exported all over the world. Along with an interesting mythological history, a legacy of timeless architectural heritage makes Pushkar a fascinating city.

Jodhpur is an ideal place where you can experience the royalty of medieval India. The formidable Mehrangarh Fort, museums, palaces and splendid gardens all hint about the extravagant lifestyle of the erstwhile period.

Udaipur, the ‘City of Lakes’, closes out the tour with its palaces rising straight from Lake Pichola — the City Palace, Jag Mandir island, and the boat rides that make it one of the most photographed cities in Rajasthan.
